AVP, GWPC Technical Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the application owner for the Guidewire Policy Center platform, overseeing architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Lead a high-performing development team in designing and delivering new Commercial Insurance products.
• Implement cutting-edge technologies, including Guidewire advancements and AI integration, to enhance policy processing.
• Manage production-related incidents and troubleshoot availability and performance issues across multiple deployment layers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Business Architecture, and Product to scope and deliver projects.
• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Guidewire ecosystem, including integrations with financial and claim systems.
• Automate deployments using robust release pipelines and maintain technical documentation such as architecture and deployment diagrams.
• Manage onshore and offshore teams, ensuring effective capacity planning and adherence to development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 7+ years in Java-based enterprise application development.
• 5+ years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center development as a Technical Lead.
• Guidewire Policy Center certification is required.
• Demonstrated experience in the P&C insurance domain, specifically Commercial Insurance.
• Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, object-oriented design, and message queues.
• Expertise in web servers (Apache Tomcat) and relational databases (SQL Server, Postgres).
• Proven experience managing technical teams across onshore/offshore models.
