About the role
Responsibilities
- Review, approve, decline, or escalate high-risk customer onboarding and periodic reviews, including PEPs, sanctions, and complex ownership structures
- Act as the second-line review point for critical escalations such as transaction monitoring alerts, sanctions matches, and internal suspicion reports
- Validate customer risk assessments for high-risk files to ensure risk ratings and mitigating controls are clearly documented and evidenced
- Provide monthly decision summaries and trend analysis to entity MLROs to support regulatory and audit requirements
- Maintain and refresh Group Country and Industry Risk Assessment frameworks based on FATF outputs and emerging financial crime risks
- Monitor FCC operational performance across the group to identify control gaps and track remediation actions
- Provide FCC input on new payment corridors, product launches, and market expansions to identify and mitigate financial crime risks
- Monitor regulatory developments across all operating jurisdictions and coordinate the implementation of required policy changes
Requirements
- 10 to 12 years of FCC experience within a regulated financial institution, bank, or payments firm
- Extensive experience in high-risk customer reviews, enhanced due diligence (EDD), PEP assessments, and sanctions decision-making
- Proven ability to perform adverse media analysis and source of funds/wealth reviews
- Strong working knowledge of AML, CFT, and sanctions frameworks, including FATF standards and cross-border payment typologies
- Experience working in a second-line FCC role with the ability to make audit-ready, well-reasoned decisions
- Multi-jurisdictional exposure (e.g., Singapore, India, Hong Kong, UAE, EU, UK, or US)
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA Diploma, or ACAMS Advanced
