AVP, Excess Casualty

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and evaluate new and renewal submissions to identify profitable opportunities aligned with business objectives
• Assess individual risk characteristics to determine capacity, attachment point, terms, and pricing for a diverse book of accounts
• Authorize quotes, binders, and invoices within established underwriting authority limits
• Ensure underwriting discipline and pricing align with corporate profitability goals and guidelines
• Build and expand the business portfolio by enhancing broker relationships and identifying new opportunities
• Represent the company at broker/client meetings and industry networking events
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business development, claims, legal, and actuarial

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of underwriting experience with established underwriting authority
• Deep expertise in Excess Casualty insurance
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, negotiate effectively, and make data-driven business decisions
• Strong financial acumen and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to assigned market territories, including overnight trips (approximately 25%)
• Bachelor's degree preferred
