AVP, E&S Excess Casualty Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Underwrite lead and excess liability business, evaluating risk characteristics to determine capacity, attachment points, terms, and pricing
• Maintain and enhance existing broker relationships while identifying and developing new regional and territory-wide relationships
• Adapt underwriting techniques to guidelines and rating plans to manage a wide range of account sizes and operations
• Develop and execute marketing plans aimed at retaining existing business and producing new business
• Operate and lead within a team-based environment involving claims, legal, and actuarial staff

Requirements

• 8+ years of casualty underwriting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year College or University
• Strong established relationships with regional wholesale brokers
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel as needed to support business activities

Preferred Qualifications

• CPCU designation
• Surplus Lines license
