AVP, E&S Property

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a profitable book of property insurance business for US middle market and upper middle market accounts within the South East region.
• Create business plans in collaboration with the Distribution division to achieve production targets with key wholesale brokers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with approved wholesale brokers through regional travel, presentations, and product training.
• Underwrite and grow a non-admitted property market book by evaluating submissions, analyzing exposure, and determining pricing and capacity.
• Monitor portfolio metrics and identify business opportunities to differentiate the company in the market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Risk-management, or Engineering.
• 5+ years of property insurance experience, specifically handling middle market and upper middle market accounts.
• At least 3 years of experience as an underwriter at a non-admitted carrier.
• Proven experience with shared and layered property accounts and negotiating manuscript forms.
• Strong knowledge of CAT Modeling parameters (PML, AAL, data quality) to assess account and portfolio exposure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with the ability to manipulate data.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and business writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry-specific designations such as CPCU or ARM.
