AVP, Cyber Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and price complex cyber risks in alignment with underwriting guidelines and authority
• Develop customized insurance solutions based on client exposures and risk profiles
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers and agency partners to grow a profitable book of business
• Manage the full underwriting lifecycle, including submission, quote, negotiation, and binding
• Monitor and manage P&L within assigned underwriting authority
• Identify emerging trends and market opportunities within the cyber insurance landscape
• Partner with internal claims, actuarial, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 7–12+ years of underwriting experience, specifically focused on cyber, technology E&O, or specialty lines
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license
• Strong risk assessment skills and deep understanding of cyber exposures such as ransomware and data breaches
• Proven track record of managing a profitable book of business

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with retail brokers in the NYC or Northeast market
• Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS
• Surplus Lines license
• Industry designations such as CPCU, RPLU, or AU
