About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to instrumentation, network, and telemetry system requirements development, architecture design, testing, and operation.
- Support flight operations by ensuring data system assets are prepared for flight test missions.
- Manage and configure aircraft instrumentation systems to provide real-time mission monitoring and post-flight data analysis.
- Support the selection and harness design for new sensors, data acquisition units, computers, and network switches.
- Develop and maintain software tools for configuration management, simulation, deployment, and analysis.
- Perform integration testing including power checks, sensor calibration, and equipment checkout.
- Collaborate with design engineers, network engineers, and technicians to meet mission goals.
Requirements
- Experience in Telemetry, Instrumentation, or Network engineering in an operational or regulated test environment.
- Proficiency with Ethernet networking, including TCP, UDP, and multicasting.
- Experience integrating data acquisition instrumentation (Analog, discrete, and digital protocols such as ARINC 429).
- Knowledge of RF devices such as transmitters, receivers, and encoders/decoders.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, including C/C++, C#, or Python.
- Experience with source control systems like Git and continuous integration toolchains.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level or above.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 2-5 years of experience (Level II) or 5-10 years of experience (Senior).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with complex payload or guided systems and hypersonic/high Mach systems.
- Knowledge of telemetry standards such as IRIG 106.
- Experience with requirements management tools like JAMA or Doors.
- Hands-on aircraft build, piloting, or flight test program experience.
- Experience with Curtiss-Wright or Safran Data Acquisition Units.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
