About the role

About the Company

Cowboy Space Corp. is building the infrastructure to power and connect the orbital economy. Our satellites operate in Low Earth Orbit to collect sunlight and enable a new class of capabilities—from powering on-orbit compute, to transmitting energy via infrared lasers.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components on launch vehicles and spacecraft
  • Perform wire harness fabrication, routing, and termination per engineering drawings
  • Conduct functional checkouts, continuity tests, and end-to-end signal verification using oscilloscopes and multimeters
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Support integration and final assembly in cleanroom and production floor environments
  • Document all work performed in the MES/MRP system
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain compliance with ESD, FOD, and contamination control protocols

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in avionics, electrical, or electronics assembly in aerospace, aviation, or defense
  • Proficiency reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
  • Ability to solder, crimp, and terminate connectors to J-STD-001 standards
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in aerospace or electrical engineering technology
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • IPC J-STD-001 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications
  • NASA workmanship certification
  • Experience with spaceflight hardware in a cleanroom environment
  • Familiarity with environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic)
