Avionics Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify avionics, electrical, and instrumentation systems on CBP aircraft
• Use intricate test equipment such as multi-trace oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and multi-meters to perform operational checks
• Perform removal, repair, installation, inspection, and calibration of system components following blueprints and schematics
• Interpret manufacturer manuals and technical drawings to solve complex technical problems
• Maintain accurate aircraft logs and records
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced technicians

Requirements

• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of aircraft avionics or electrical related experience
• Valid motor vehicle driver's license
• Basic computer data entry skills for maintenance and logistics databases
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing, bending, and working in various weather conditions
