About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Responsible Engineer for Avionics system design, performance, and hardware across computing, power, instrumentation, RF, GNC, and harnessing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to capture requirements and lead design trades
  • Create technical documentation including system diagrams, schematics, and interface control documents
  • Execute component and system testing on flight hardware through qualification and integration
  • Support spacecraft integration testing, troubleshooting failures, and managing spacecraft risk
  • Design and build Avionics production infrastructure
  • Write modular, reusable test, analysis, and automation software in Python and Rust
  • Manage project plans, milestones, and schedule execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in documentation, development, testing, and integration of space-grade avionics systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-velocity startup environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to assess risk

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI/EMC)
  • Competence with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and network analyzers
  • Experience with technical design reviews (PDR, CDR, FRR)
  • Proficiency with NX or similar CAD software
  • Expertise in PCB schematic capture and board layout (Altium)
  • Experience with Linux, Bash, C++, and MODBUS
