Avionics Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the integration, testing, and operations of hypersonic vehicle launch system avionics and electrical systems
• Write and perform technical procedures and address vehicle discrepancies
• Support vehicle system troubleshooting and modifications
• Maintain configuration control over major avionics system elements, including wiring diagrams and 3D CAD
• Coordinate with subsystem leads to develop requirements, test plans, and procedures
• Perform electrical design analysis to gauge system adequacy and performance
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and external customers for range integration and payload support
• Create presentations and support design reviews throughout vehicle development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline
• Experience with electrical engineering, avionics, or launch vehicle integration
• Proficiency in troubleshooting Ethernet networks
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and/or circuit schematics
• Experience with flight vehicle troubleshooting and electrical design analysis (e.g., power budgets, thermal analysis)
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or XML
• Strong written communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
• Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain)
• Knowledge of environmental testing (vibration, thermal, shock)
• Experience with IEEE 802.3 networking standards and IRIG-106 telemetry standards
• Experience with Mission Control Center operations
• Proficiency with Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics, Matlab, or Labview
• Security clearance
