Avionics Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability and assembly of avionics components and wire harnesses
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and onboard equipment
• Create detailed manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve manufacturing challenges
• Work with suppliers to ensure high-quality component delivery and approve manufacturing processes
• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of avionics systems
• Participate in design reviews to improve reliability and manufacturability
• Collaborate with quality assurance to maintain rigorous control processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or avionics
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends for mission milestones

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Siemens NX or similar CAD software
• Familiarity with IPC standards and avionics regulations
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Hands-on experience with avionics testing and troubleshooting
