Avionics Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly processes
• Support new product introduction and development of manufacturing processes for avionics hardware
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions
• Design and implement tooling to improve production processes and safety
• Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges using root cause analysis (RCCA)
• Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of avionics components
• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of hardware
• Participate in design reviews to improve reliability and manufacturability
• Mentor less experienced team members and collaborate on documentation review

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or avionics
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends for critical milestones

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of avionics, power systems, and electronics manufacturing
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Siemens NX
• Familiarity with IPC standards and industry regulations
• Experience with testing and troubleshooting avionics systems
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
