Avionics Harness Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Contribute to harness design and integration activities from conceptual design to system integration
• Perform component selection, process development, qualification, and production support
• Create wiring diagrams, perform 3D routing, and produce 2D drawings for production harnesses
• Generate and maintain accurate technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manufacturing/integration personnel
• Present technical work at design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering
• 2-3 years of professional experience in wire harness design or electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical layout drawings
• Understanding of wire gauge selection, current capacity, and voltage drop calculations
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Strong communication and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace, defense, or spacecraft electrical systems
• Experience with NX CAD software specifically
• Hands-on experience with development and test harness design for qualification testing
• Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• Experience designing harness mounts, brackets, and secondary structures
• Proficiency or certification in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Familiarity with re-entry vehicle systems or high-reliability electrical systems
