Avionics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, analyze, integrate, and test avionics and electrical systems
• Maintain configuration control over major avionics system elements including wiring diagrams, 3D CAD, and work orders
• Coordinate with other subsystem leads to develop requirements, test plans, and procedures
• Perform analysis to gauge system design adequacy and performance to meet program requirements
• Support ground and flight testing as required
• Evaluate risks and develop mitigation plans

Requirements

• Experience with electrical engineering, avionics, electronics, or launch vehicle integration
• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
• Experience with troubleshooting Ethernet networks
• Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain)
• Experience creating wiring diagrams and/or circuit schematics
• Experience with electrical design analysis (power budgets, thermal analysis, or RF budgets)
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and XML
• Valid U.S. passport and ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex payload or guided systems
• Experience integrating hypersonic systems onto military platforms
• Experience with PCB design, bring-up, and integration
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 networking and IRIG-106 telemetry standards
• Proficiency with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics
• Familiarity with JIRA, JAMA, Confluence, or Git
