Avionics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, analyze, integrate, and test avionics and electrical systems
• Maintain configuration control over major avionics system elements including wiring diagrams and 3D CAD
• Coordinate with subsystem leads to develop requirements, test plans, and procedures
• Perform analysis to gauge system design adequacy and performance to meet program requirements
• Support ground and flight testing as required
• Evaluate risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline
• 2-5 years of experience (Level II) or 5-10 years of experience (Senior) in aerospace or electrical engineering
• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
• Proficiency in troubleshooting Ethernet networks and working with data acquisition/instrumentation
• Experience creating wiring diagrams, circuit schematics, and performing electrical design analysis
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or XML
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level or above

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex payload or guided systems
• Experience integrating high Mach or hypersonic systems onto military platforms
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 networking and IRIG-106 telemetry standards
• Experience with PCB design, bring-up, and integration
• Proficiency with Matlab, Labview, or Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
