Avionics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics systems including bus signal reviews, configuration updates, and wiring changes
• Partner with pilots and system owners to capture needs for avionics and displays
• Ensure compliance with aviation standards like ARP 4754A and ARP 4761 and Part 25 regulations
• Perform supplier oversight during procurement and development phases
• Oversee system integration of avionics within the aircraft
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation to verify system performance
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, systems, or related engineering
• 5-10+ years of experience in avionics development and integration
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the V-model lifecycle
• Experience with avionics integration on Part 25 aircraft
• Experience with supplier oversight
• Ability to analyze technical data and troubleshoot test failures

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with airplane development programs and experimental designs
• Background in test planning and execution
• Familiarity with digital thread approaches (CAD/FEA/PLM)
