Avionics Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Design and develop flight-quality PCBAs for spacecraft avionics systems
• Conduct electrical analyses including worst-case analysis, power budgets, and signal integrity assessments
• Participate in hands-on bring-up, debugging, and verification of prototype hardware
• Support environmental testing activities such as Thermal Vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC
• Create and maintain design documentation including schematics and bills of materials
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve interface issues and support integrated system development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related field
• 1-3+ years of experience in electronics design or hardware development
• Strong foundation in power electronics, analogue and digital circuit design, and signal integrity
• Proficiency in eCAD tools like Altium Designer and circuit simulation tools like LTspice or SPICE
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and hardware troubleshooting
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing power electronics or motor drive electronics
• Familiarity with space-specific design considerations like radiation effects and thermal management in vacuum
• Experience with Worst-Case Analysis and DFM/DFT principles
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB
• Familiarity with FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL)
