About the role
Responsibilities
- Design circuits and PCBs for various spacecraft subsystems, including internal communication, power distribution, and flight computer systems
- Characterize, test, and validate hardware systems across the spacecraft
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to architecture, design, and execute satellite avionics
- Take ownership of the full lifecycle of hardware designs
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to the growing team
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or an equivalent technical degree
- 2+ years of experience in PCB and hardware design
- Strong analog and mixed-signal circuit design skills
- Experience debugging circuits using embedded software, ranging from oscilloscopes to firmware
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export regulations)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and communication schemes (RS-485, SPI, Ethernet, I2C)
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Python
- Knowledge of radiation effects on electronics
- Experience with environmental testing
