Avionics Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Integrate Avionics and Electrical components into aircraft
• Develop and maintain system and sub-system drawing packages
• Define system architecture for Avionics and Electrical systems
• Develop engineering documentation including Drawing Trees, Block Diagrams, ICD, and Wiring Diagrams
• Define the Bill of Material (BOM) for electrical drawings
• Partner with harness engineers to determine routing requirements
• Support design validation testing and resolve design related failures
• Provide liaison engineering support in the electrical shop
• Develop test plans and procedures

Requirements

• Experience in electrical engineering, avionics, or launch vehicle integration
• Experience with Aerospace production documentation (drawings and work orders)
• Experience with PDM systems and engineering revision control
• Familiarity with aerospace hardware such as connectors, relays, and wire types
• Proficiency with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics
• Familiarity with 3D CAD
• Aerospace development background and systems integration experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Security clearance
• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
• Hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system installation
• 3D CAD modeling experience (NX, CATIA, or Solidworks)
• Familiarity with Jira
