Avionics Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Integrate avionics and electrical components into aircraft, including requirement gathering and generating wiring diagrams
• Develop and maintain system and sub-system drawing packages, including Block Diagrams and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
• Define system architecture for avionics and electrical systems and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Partner with harness engineers to determine routing requirements and incorporate design redlines
• Support design validation testing and provide liaison engineering support to technicians in the electrical shop
• Develop engineering documentation, test plans, and procedures to support complex aerospace system integration

Requirements

• Experience in electrical engineering, avionics, or launch vehicle/experimental aircraft integration
• Proficiency with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics
• Experience with aerospace production documentation, including drawings and work orders
• Experience using PDM systems and engineering revision control processes
• Familiarity with 3D CAD and common aerospace hardware (connectors, relays, wire types)
• Ability to work on-site in Mojave, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
• Direct hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system installation
• 3D CAD modeling experience using NX, CATIA, or Solidworks
• Familiarity with configuration management systems such as Jira
• Active security clearance
