Avionics Design Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Own and lead avionics components and subsystems
• Execute full lifecycle development of electronic components from requirements to production
• Design and test digital, power, and analog sensing circuits for aerospace environments
• Develop and execute test campaigns for computing modules and high-voltage systems
• Create automation software in Python and C/C++ for test equipment and ERP systems
• Conduct critical analyses including FMECA, derating, and root-cause analysis
• Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve program goals
• Review and approve engineering changes, schematics, and PCB designs
• Develop documentation for test procedures, maintenance, and calibration

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 1+ years of experience with electronics hardware development
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, interfaces, and sensors
• Hands-on proficiency with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to drive tasks and projects to completion independently
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, TVAC)
• Proficiency in Altium Designer
• Programming experience with Python, C, and C++
