About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary site focal point for aviation safety matters and safety promotion activities in Grand Prairie, TX.
  • Lead Safety Risk Management (SRM) activities under the Safety Management System (SMS), including site development and organizational change.
  • Maintain the safety reporting system, investigate aviation hazards and incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the site's flight line safety program, including policy development, training, and access control.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and flight operations to promote hazard identification and safety ownership.
  • Facilitate the Safety Action Group (SAG) and manage the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) notification system.
  • Provide technical expertise for aviation accident investigations as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation, safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in aviation safety or helicopter maintenance/flight operations.
  • Broad knowledge of FAA operational and safety management regulations.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite or similar software.
  • Formal training in Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR definition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in flight operations, aircraft maintenance, or safety.
  • Experience in accident investigation and Human Factors.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., Taproot, Bowtie, SHELL).
  • FAA commercial/instrument pilot rating with rotorcraft-helicopter rating or an A&P certificate.
  • Technical knowledge of Flight Data Monitoring systems and Helicopter Usage and Monitoring Systems (HUMS).
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet.
