About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction, including preparing syllabi in accordance with divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
- Support both classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation or a related field OR meet "Tested Experience" requirements (High school diploma, appropriate industry license/credential, and 5 years of related industry or teaching experience)
- For flight instructor applicants: FAA Ratings including Instrument, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
- Proficiency in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
- Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
- Ability to pass a background check and provide official transcripts
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Ratings: Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), Multi-engine, or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
- Prior successful teaching experience
- Extensive industry experience in aviation
