About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
  • Plan and organize instruction, including preparing syllabi in accordance with divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
  • Support both classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or a related field OR meet "Tested Experience" requirements (High school diploma, appropriate industry license/credential, and 5 years of related industry or teaching experience)
  • For flight instructor applicants: FAA Ratings including Instrument, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
  • Proficiency in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
  • Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
  • Ability to pass a background check and provide official transcripts

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Ratings: Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), Multi-engine, or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
  • Prior successful teaching experience
  • Extensive industry experience in aviation
