About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction, including preparing syllabi in accordance with department policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies and utilize instructional technology
- Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse students
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Commercial Pilot Certificate (Single-Engine Land) with Instrument Rating
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate
- Must meet one of the following:
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in a related field or college teaching experience
- Completion of at least 30 semester credit hours toward a bachelor's degree plus demonstrated teaching qualifications
- Other comparable education, training, or widely recognized professional experience
- Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in aviation or a closely related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Additional FAA certificates such as CFII, MEI, AGI, or ATP
- Previous teaching experience in higher education, military instruction, or industry training
- Proficiency with learning management systems, simulation, and educational technologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
