About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain the FAA Part 65 Dispatch program and all required FAA records
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction, including the preparation of syllabi for all assigned sections
- Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
- Support both classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines and maintain student confidentiality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field (or meet "Tested Experience" requirements)
- Valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher license (candidates must upload images of both front and back of the license)
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a community college environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience in aviation dispatch
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
- Associate's degree in a related discipline
