About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the Museum’s event, performance, and presentation spaces including the Wattis Theater and Koret Education Center.
- Perform setup and teardown of AV furniture and equipment for performances, films, lectures, and presentations.
- Operate and maintain all AV equipment, providing technical support and end-user training as needed.
- Monitor vendor load-in/load-out to ensure compliance with Museum policy and protocol.
- Prepare and test client-provided media and equipment to ensure compatibility with Museum systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and configuration of audio and video equipment.
Requirements
- Experience operating and troubleshooting various media systems, AV, and production equipment.
- Knowledge of standard AV technologies, including web, video, and audio conferencing/streaming.
- Experience working with sound and lighting systems in live performance settings.
- Proficiency with digital mixers and videography.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including late nights and overtime, for special events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with in-house staff, freelance technicians, and contractors.
- Ability to decipher schematics, diagrams, and floor plans.
- Strong organizational and task management skills in a fast-paced environment.
