AV PreSales Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create detailed AV system designs including schematic line diagrams, signal flow topologies, rack layouts, and network architectural pathways.
• Engineer advanced layouts incorporating DSPs, Unified Communications (UC) platforms, automated control infrastructure, and AV-over-IP networks.
• Develop comprehensive AV Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and competitive project costings.
• Formulate Scopes of Work (SOW), technical solution narratives, and responsive technical RFP/RFQ bids.
• Conduct on-site engineering surveys and customer discovery sessions to assess technical requirements.
• Pitch customized AV engineering designs and Value Engineering (VE) alternatives to consultants and executive decision-makers.
• Manage commercial relationships with regional AV manufacturers and wholesale distributors across the GCC.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in AV presales and design within the UAE/GCC market.
• Mandatory AVIXA CTS certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Visio for AV design and documentation.
• Technical knowledge of DSP platforms (QSC, Biamp, BSS) and control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX).
• Valid UAE driving licence and possession of a personal vehicle.
• Understanding of IT networking fundamentals including VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP (Dante, Q-SYS).

Preferred Qualifications

• AVIXA CTS-D (Design) certification.
• Experience with command/control rooms and mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in Revit or Bluebeam for advanced design workflows.
• Experience with D-Tools or similar estimation software.
