AV Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the generalist technician pool daily, ensuring optimal staff allocation for shows and tasks.
• Act as the on-site crew supervisor during load-ins, show runs, and load-outs.
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients and venues following project handover.
• Manage technician deployment, coordinating travel, leave, training, and downtime productivity.
• Provide direct line management for pool technicians, including coaching, performance management, and 1:1s.
• Collaborate with L&D teams to identify training needs and coordinate cross-functional skill development.
• Enforce safe systems of work, including HSE compliance and safe rigging practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in live events or audiovisual operations, including hands-on technical work.
• 1+ years of experience supervising or leading technical teams on-site.
• Strong knowledge of AV and live event production workflows across multiple disciplines.
• Proven experience leading load-ins/load-outs and managing client relationships on-site.
• Demonstrated people management skills, including coaching and performance discussions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal scheduling and billing systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to represent the business to stakeholders.
