AV Driver Trainer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement driver training programs covering safety protocols, road procedures, and AV-specific operational guidelines
• Conduct pre-ride certifications for new drivers and regular re-evaluations to maintain standards
• Provide in-vehicle coaching and real-time feedback to drivers during training sessions
• Identify knowledge and skill gaps within the driver team and develop training materials for improvement
• Collaborate with Fleet Specialists and Operations teams to update training programs based on evolving requirements
• Manage accurate training records, certification statuses, and compliance documentation
• Serve as an on-site safety lead during test operations to ensure protocol adherence and handle escalations
• Support off-site testing duties involving approximately 25% travel annually

Requirements

• At least 5 years of clean driving record with no accidents or violations
• Practical experience in driver instruction or certification within a professional setting
• Proven track record of demonstrating safe driving behaviors and a safety-first mindset
• Excellent communication skills to clearly convey protocols and procedures
• Basic English proficiency to read operational documents and communicate with international team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Large vehicle driver's license
• Experience instructing truck or commercial vehicle drivers
• Knowledge or experience regarding autonomous vehicle testing environments or fleet operations
