AV Driver Trainer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement driver training programs covering safety protocols, road procedures, and AV-specific operational guidelines
• Conduct pre-ride certifications for new drivers and perform regular re-evaluations to maintain standards
• Provide real-time feedback and in-vehicle instruction to drivers during training sessions
• Identify knowledge and skill gaps within the driver team and develop training materials to address them
• Collaborate with Fleet Specialists and Operations teams to update training programs based on evolving requirements
• Maintain accurate records of driver training, certifications, and compliance documentation
• Serve as an on-site safety lead during testing operations to ensure protocol adherence and manage escalations
• Support off-site testing operations, which may involve approximately 25% travel

Requirements

• 5+ years of a clean driving record (no accidents or violations)
• Proven experience in driver instruction, training, or certification within a professional setting
• A safety-first mindset with a track record of demonstrating exemplary driving behavior
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex protocols clearly
• Basic English proficiency to handle operational documentation and collaborate with global teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a large vehicle driver's license
• Experience instructing truck or commercial vehicle drivers
• Knowledge of or experience in autonomous vehicle testing environments or fleet operations
