About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT and AV support via email, ticketing systems, and walk-up assistance for faculty, staff, and students
- Coordinate with tri-campus teams to align stakeholder communication and ensure successful scheduling of AV-enabled initiatives
- Monitor live classes and events to deliver real-time troubleshooting, AV setup, and issue resolution
- Provide frontline troubleshooting for hardware, software, connectivity, and peripherals across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android environments
- Support core university systems including Microsoft 365, email, VPN, printing, shared drives, and Zoom
- Apply established standards when deploying, testing, and validating new or upgraded hardware and software
- Identify complex issues and escalate appropriately to second and third-level support teams
- Contribute to knowledge base documentation, equipment inventory, and routine IT/AV maintenance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of experience with PC-based and dedicated videoconferencing, audio-visual, and presentation technologies
- Demonstrated experience supporting IP videoconferencing, digital media streaming, and web-based collaboration technologies
- Proficiency with industry-standard AV technologies, including gateways, MCUs, and networking protocols (H.323, SIP, H.264)
- Comprehensive knowledge of AV control systems, Ethernet networking, and TCP/IP controls
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, various media formats, and digital media recording/editing tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Extron AV, or Crestron
