About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement path planning algorithms integrating atmospheric data, terrain constraints, and flight performance
  • Develop flight performance models accounting for wind, weather, and aircraft dynamics
  • Build optimization algorithms for weather-aware route planning and dynamic re-routing
  • Implement production-grade autonomy software focused on reliability and real-time performance
  • Integrate path planning systems with frontend visualization and backend services
  • Contribute to cloud deployment pipelines and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in path planning, trajectory optimization, or flight control systems
  • Strong understanding of UAV flight dynamics and performance modeling
  • Experience with optimization algorithms
  • Understanding of atmospheric sciences or weather data integration
  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals and clean code commitment
  • Experience with automated testing and Docker
  • Proficiency with Git
  • Willingness to learn Golang and contribute to backend/frontend/cloud tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Background in meteorology or weather modeling
  • Experience with NetCDF or GRIB data formats
  • Knowledge of ROS/ROS2 or flight controllers like PX4 and Ardupilot
  • Experience with simulation environments such as Gazebo, jsbSim, or X-Plane
  • Previous experience in UAV, autonomous vehicles, or robotics industries
  • Published research in path planning or trajectory optimization
  • Familiarity with geospatial libraries like GDAL, GeoPandas, or PostGIS
  • Understanding of airspace regulations and aviation standards
