Autonomy Integration Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and validate software systems on autonomous vehicles focusing on robotics, sensors, and vehicle autopilots
• Participate in hands-on fieldwork, deploying software on vehicles in dynamic, real-world environments
• Interface with sensors such as RADAR, cameras, GPS, and SONAR and integrate them into the autonomous vehicle framework
• Work with Perception and Autonomy teams to optimize perception pipelines and vehicle autonomy software
• Address inter-vehicle communication and ensure seamless data exchange for collaborative operations
• Integrate third-party software and APIs into existing systems
• Implement CI/CD processes to enhance system performance and reliability
• Leverage simulation environments to validate software behavior before field deployment

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Optimization, or equivalent, or 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in Linux and command-line tools
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++
• Hands-on experience with robotic systems, sensors, and vehicle autopilots (e.g., PX4, ROS)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
• Knowledge of communication protocols like DDS, UDP, or ROS2
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot and deploy systems in challenging field environments
• Familiarity with maritime vessels and/or airborne drones
