About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and validate software systems on autonomous vehicles, focusing on robotics, sensors, and vehicle autopilots
  • Participate in hands-on fieldwork, deploying software on vehicles and ensuring functionality in dynamic, real-world environments
  • Interface with sensors (RADAR, cameras, GPS, SONAR) and vehicle autopilot systems to integrate them into the autonomous framework
  • Collaborate with Perception and Autonomy teams to optimize perception pipelines and vehicle autonomy software
  • Address inter-vehicle communication to ensure seamless data exchange for collaborative operations
  • Integrate third-party software and APIs into existing systems
  • Utilize simulation environments to test and validate vehicle systems before field deployment
  • Implement CI/CD processes to enhance system performance and reliability

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Optimization, or equivalent (or 5 years of relevant experience in multi-agent autonomy)
  • Strong proficiency in Linux and command-line tools
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ (primary work is in C++)
  • Hands-on experience with robotic systems, sensors, and vehicle autopilots (e.g., PX4, ROS)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like DDS, UDP, or ROS2
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and deploy systems in challenging field environments
  • Familiarity with maritime vessels and/or airborne drones
  • Excellent technical communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams
