Automotive UX/UI Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical elements of the car HMI system including displays, cameras, and sensors
• Manage packaging in vehicle lines, enclosures, and electro-optical mechanical elements
• Liaise with contract manufacturers and integrators to finalize mechanical layouts
• Develop DFMEA, FMA, and support quality systems
• Create and approve component and assembly drawings
• Conduct root cause and troubleshooting investigations
• Work with child part suppliers to develop sub-components
• Design and assemble prototype parts and fixtures
• Develop test and evaluation regimes
• Provide input into design reviews

Requirements

• Prior experience as a mechanical engineer at a tier 1 electro-mechanical supplier or automotive OEM
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 in a multi-discipline environment
• Engineering degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an automotive mechanical engineering environment within a multi-disciplined team
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Experience with electrical, optical, thermal, and NVH systems
