About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement application-specific software, firmware, and hardware solutions using NXP microcontrollers and processors
  • Design, build, and test proof-of-concept systems, reference designs, and evaluation kits
  • Provide technical support to customers, including debugging and resolving complex system-level issues
  • Create detailed application notes, technical documentation, and training materials
  • Execute performance analysis and benchmarking to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity in software development and debugging
  • Contribute to AI-enabled automotive demonstrations and technical content

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive embedded systems development or applications engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Arm-based MCU/MPU architectures
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming
  • Expertise in embedded Linux development
  • Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, PCIe, and Ethernet
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 safety standards
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded development tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with heterogeneous, multi-core embedded systems
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (code completion, automated refactoring, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts for edge AI deployments
  • Prior experience with NXP's automotive product portfolio, such as S32Z/E, S32N, S32G, or S32K
