Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections and diagnosing functionality issues
• Repair mechanical failures including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, and steering systems
• Use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software to maintain vehicle records
• Perform removal and replacement of major components
• Maintain shop equipment and perform preventive maintenance
• Manage inventory by ordering parts and verifying receipts
• Evaluate service and parts options to contain costs

Requirements

• 3 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility
• Experience working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts
• Must provide own tools
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to work in a minimally climate-controlled facility
• Capability for customer interaction when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications
