Automotive Polisher (Detailer)

Responsibilities

• Polish repainted surfaces and vehicle panels using rotary or dual-action polishers
• Remove swirl marks, overspray, dust nibs, and minor paint imperfections
• Apply polishing compounds, waxes, and sealants to achieve high-gloss finishes
• Inspect painted surfaces for blemishes, scratches, and texture inconsistencies
• Perform minor touch-ups or report major issues to the painter or supervisor
• Operate and maintain polishing tools, machines, and pads safely and effectively
• Use appropriate grades of compounds and pads based on specific surface conditions

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as an automotive polisher in a workshop or body shop
• Deep knowledge of polishing compounds, paint types, and finishing techniques
• Strong understanding of clear coat systems and paint correction methods
• Proven ability to identify surface defects and apply appropriate polishing solutions
• Technical proficiency in using polishing machines, pads, and abrasives
