Automotive Painter

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming vehicle surfaces
• Mix paint to match original vehicle colors using computerized color matching systems
• Apply primer, basecoat, and clearcoat using spray guns and other professional tools
• Ensure smooth, even finishes and inspect surfaces for flaws such as runs, sags, or uneven textures
• Operate and maintain spray booths, tools, and safety equipment regularly
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations regarding chemical use and PPE
• Record paint usage, color codes, and job completion details accurately
• Collaborate with panel beaters and workshop team members to complete full body repairs

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in automotive painting or refinishing
• Knowledge of both solvent-based and water-based automotive paint systems
• Proven experience in paint mixing, color matching, and spray application
• Familiarity with polishing and buffing techniques for final finishing
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems and professional repair tools
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety standards
