Automotive Mechanic Sr.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead worker over other mechanics and act as a supervisor in the foreman's absence
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain various systems on diesel and gas equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, steering, suspension, brakes, clutches, and electrical systems
• Overhaul motors, transmissions, and universal joints
• Conduct inspections and safety checks on all repaired vehicles
• Perform repairs both in the shop and in the field, prioritizing emergency breakdowns
• Interpret electrical circuits and technical drawings to facilitate repairs
• Maintain accurate work records for tracking maintenance and repairs
• Communicate with County employees regarding vehicle operation and driving issues

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment
• Valid State of Arizona driver's license
• A good driving record
