Automotive Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of vehicles, including trucks, buses, and heavy equipment.
• Execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and isolate mechanical malfunctions using on-board computer diagnostic systems and specialized test equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, manage parts procurement, and prepare written estimates for repair costs and labor.
• Provide technical direction and assistance to other mechanics on complex or difficult repair jobs.
• Maintain a highly organized and clean maintenance shop in compliance with OSHA regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Respond to emergency road calls and perform state vehicle safety and emission inspections.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI US Government clearance with Polygraph (US Citizenship required).
• 5 years of experience in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy automotive or specialized equipment.
• High school Diploma or GED.
• ASE certification (provide within 30 days of employment).
• Ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "P" endorsement within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE Master certification or multiple ASE certifications.
• Experience with diesel mechanics and basic welding.
• Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and maintenance databases.
• Experience adjusting ballistic armor in specialized vehicles.
