Automation Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and controls systems for production and high-speed packaging equipment
• Support extruders, dryers, conveying systems, cartoners, baggers, palletizers, utilities, HVAC, chillers, and compressed air systems
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance to resolve recurring issues and complete preventative maintenance
• Maintain PLC backups, schematics, and electrical documentation
• Modify and improve electrical and control systems in compliance with NEC standards
• Assist with capital projects and equipment installations

Requirements

• 2-year Electrical Technician degree or equivalent experience (apprenticeship, military training, or 3+ years hands-on experience)
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to read wiring diagrams
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours per shift
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 35 ft
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and dusty environments
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred Qualifications

• Food manufacturing electrical and controls experience
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
• OSHA 10 certification
• Experience operating forklifts or lifts
