About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex equipment diagnostics and resolve high-impact automation issues across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software domains
  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Mentor and train junior technicians and production operators on automation best practices
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D to support new equipment installation and qualification
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment uptime, cycle time, and reliability
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for recurring technical issues
  • Support the integration and optimization of PLCs, vision systems, and robotic cells
  • Champion documentation standards including technical drawings, training protocols, and troubleshooting guides

Requirements

  • GED, High School Diploma, or Associate’s degree in engineering, automation, or a related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing systems
  • Proven expertise with industrial control systems, specifically PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with machine vision systems and robotic automation platforms
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and industrial networking
  • Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software for tooling design and documentation
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Ability to read and interpret advanced schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams
