About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary automation engineering team in developing complex systems for naval and defense applications.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including technical requirements, development, validation, and industrialization.
- Ensure compliance with military standards, cybersecurity requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supervise the integration of electronic components, embedded systems, communication networks, and software platforms.
- Coordinate the development of real-time software architectures, control systems, HMI, PLC, SCADA, and embedded platforms.
- Support Business Development by defining technical solutions and contributing to cost estimation and risk analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement through Agile/Lean Engineering and Systems Engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing on testing, validation, and obsolescence management.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Electronic, Computer, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent technical field).
- Strong knowledge of industrial and embedded software architectures.
- Proficiency in electronic hardware systems and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
- Proven experience in hardware/software integration.
- Familiarity with real-time environments, safety-critical systems, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Proficiency in both Italian and English (written and spoken).
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain National/NATO Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with military and naval standards (MIL-STD, NATO STANAG).
- Experience in EMI/EMC engineering according to MIL-STD-461.
- Knowledge of command and control systems, advanced sensors, and autonomous/ROV platforms.
- Experience managing highly integrated hardware/software systems.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Business Development.
