About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage, repair, and install building automation system components controlling HVAC, fire, tornado, security, and energy conservation equipment district-wide.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace system components and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Analyze daily HVAC equipment performance to optimize temperature control and conserve energy.
  • Design, purchase, and install control systems for new construction and existing building upgrades.
  • Write software in Siemens proprietary language to enhance equipment control.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network communications, servers, computers, and fiber optics.
  • Provide 24/7 emergency repair support as needed.
  • Provide technical training for mechanical/electrical technicians and building/grounds supervisors.

Requirements

  • One year of postsecondary education in HVAC (relevant work experience may be substituted).
  • Four years of experience operating microprocessor-based building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Windows Administrators software.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 100 lbs and working in various physical postures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electric and pneumatic controls and automation control schemes for HVAC.
  • Extensive experience with Siemens Apogee/Desigo and Designer software.
  • Experience with server systems, domain LAN administration, and workstation PCs.
  • Ability to provide effective classroom-style training to technical staff.
