Automation & Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary workflow and MES process-planning focal for TPS manufacturing, developing routing steps, digital travelers, and automated work sequences
• Build, configure, and maintain TPS process plans, job travelers, and MES logic within Solumina or similar systems
• Identify automation opportunities to improve task sequencing, reduce manual data entry, and enhance digital traceability
• Support the programming, troubleshooting, and operation of automated equipment, including robotics
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers on the manufacturing floor to resolve workflow issues and improve process readiness
• Monitor ongoing TPS work and communicate schedule risks, resource constraints, and material availability to leadership
• Document process deviations, lessons learned, and drive corrective actions and digital process updates

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, or related field) from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation programming, manufacturing planning, process engineering, or aerospace production
• Must be a US Citizen and have a STAR ID
• Experience working with materials, coatings, or manufacturing processes
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, process flows, and configuration-controlled documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across engineering, quality, and technician groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics (Fanuc preferred)
• Experience developing or managing manufacturing plans, travelers, or process instructions in an aerospace environment
• Experience utilizing Solumina or similar manufacturing process software
• Familiarity with TPS materials including foams, coatings, and adhesives
• Experience in environments involving coatings, surface preparation, or materials processing
