About the role

Responsibilities

  • Respond to escalated technical support cases from Laboratory Service Engineers to resolve recurring issues.
  • Execute troubleshooting protocols, mechanical repairs, and basic system diagnostics to restore uptime.
  • Perform investigations into equipment issues using historical diagnostic protocols and service data.
  • Document service learnings and root cause findings to support knowledge continuity and reduce future escalations.
  • Triage incoming requests for stand-alone and custom laboratory automation systems.
  • Analyze log files and data to identify patterns and support continuous improvement of service workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, quality, and IT to support system reliability.
  • Support the transfer of new hardware and products between laboratories through testing and technical validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience in an engineering or technical support role.
  • 1 year of experience in industrial automation maintenance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical lab regulations (e.g., CAP/CLIA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with custom automation controls, including ladder logic programming (Rockwell Studio 5000/Allen Bradley PLCs).
  • Working knowledge of vision system programming and troubleshooting (Cognex or Keyence).
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Fanuc or Epson robots.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and view Solidworks/CAD models.
  • Experience working in a regulated production environment.
