About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide application engineering and software program development for campus building automation systems (BAS), HVAC, and building service systems.
- Coordinate with campus utilities staff to provide BAS engineering support for HVAC maintenance and projects.
- Troubleshoot and service the BAS communications network.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and external consultant engineers to provide complete engineering services.
- Establish design and application practices that implement energy conservation and sustainable design.
- Modify sequences of operation and controller programs to accommodate building remodel projects.
- Select, install, and calibrate meters and instrumentation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the installation, configuration, service, troubleshooting, and repair of building automation control systems (including pneumatic and electronic controls).
- Working knowledge of Tridium and Niagara framework.
- Proficiency in BAS programming using block coding and/or line coding methodology.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system sequences of operation (chilled water, air handling, steam, etc.).
- Competency with test instrumentation such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network sniffers.
- Familiarity with OSI model network layers for troubleshooting network issues.
- Niagara 4 Technical Certification.
- Valid CA noncommercial Class C License.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and knowledge of electronic circuitry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems engineering, or a related field.
