Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and implement electronic engineering systems, including PLC programs and HMI screens.
• Support the Maintenance Manager in maintaining plant automation systems to ensure continuous operation.
• Analyze electronic and automation equipment using Continuous Improvement (CI) and High Performance (HP) methodologies.
• Supervise, direct, and train automation technicians and electricians.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of opacity and continuous emission monitors.
• Manage technical drawings, preventive maintenance routines, and spare parts requirements.
• Act as an interface between plant electronic component systems and the IT department.
• Assist in developing capital project programs for new automation equipment.
• Maintain a safe working environment in adherence to all plant and MSHA safety policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cement manufacturing and automation processes.
• 3+ years of experience with 5S methodology and KPI tracking.
• 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
• 2+ years of experience with high-performance methodologies.
